Marquee tool is a DHTML application that can save you time and help you in your future projects. It is the first web based Javascript tool that allows you to select rectangular areas on <IMG> or <DIV> elements, calculate selection coordinates, display them or send them to the server.
Marqueetool DHTML application is useful for developers who face the challenge of making image selection and coordinates calculation of selected areas. Or if you want to highlight some areas of your picture (for example point out yourself on the photo). With the help of the marquee tool you can easily focus someone's attention to a specific area on the picture.
The adaptation of tool is not limited in DHTML applications. It can be selection of some area on the picture and further placing other picture on selected area. Or it can be cropping tool for improving composition of your picture or say cropping area on some photo for creating your avatar. With ability of managing several marquees on the same picture you can pick out several areas for further actions. Also you can figure out some use of MarqueeTool yourself.

Marquee tool uses a reduced size version of Prototype Javascript library, producing a smaller size, extremely functional and fast loading in browser. The total size of the application is about 50KB.
Tool is the free for use and distribution application and it doesn't require developer permission or approval to use (MIT - licence).
Some day Google will take my idea and make a Javascript Photoshop :-D
